Accident on US 33 Claims Life

The Fairfield Post of The State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that claimed one life. The crash between three cars and a tractor-trailer happened Friday morning just before 11:00 on US 33 in Violet Township. According to the patrol, the tractor-trailer failed to maintain an assured clear distance as it was traveling west. As a result, the truck hit two vehicles from behind – those vehicles then hit a fourth car. 26-year-old Jessica Rose of Madison was killed in the crash. 45-year0old Hugh Hancock of Mt. Perry, 70-year-old Charles Zerface of Bremen and 28-year-old David Whitaker of Painesville were all transported to Grant Medical Center with injuries.
