Members of local Roman Catholic churches joined together to commemorate the feast of Corpus Christi. Believers marched in a processional through downtown Zanesville today to signify years of devotion to the Catholic religion. The day is also an important indication of brotherhood in faith. Father Jordan McConway of St. Thomas Aquinas says,
”This is a sign of our unity of Catholics all around the world. We are in communion with one another in our beliefs in the Eucharist. We come from different backgrounds, from different countries, but the Catholic Church is Catholic in the sense that it means universal.” The processional is an annual event. The parishes of St. Thomas, St. Nicholas, St. Ann’s of Dresden, and St. Mary’s Mattingly Settlement all participated.
