The staff at the Muskingum County Jail is more cautious now after an inmate was reportedly found trafficking drugs within the facility. This week, inmate, Forrest Johnson pleaded not guilty to trafficking drugs. Muskingum County Sheriff, Bob Stephenson says back in February a member of the kitchen staff alerted authorities about the drugs. The incident is still under investigation and it’s unclear as to how the drugs were brought into the jail. Although no new policies are in place, the sheriff says he is confident that current procedures will prevent any similar cases. Johnson was serving time for driving a motor vehicle without a license at the time of the incident. Johnson is the only person who has been charged in this case so far.
