Voters Turn Down Special Issues

Voters turned out for a special election on Tuesday and the majority voted no. Residents in the West Muskingum School District voted not to renew a 2.6 mill levy for 5 years. The unofficial total is 905 votes for the issue and 998 votes against. As for voters in the Johnstown Monroe Local School District, they too voted down a 1% income tax for five years for current expenses. The unofficial count is 551 in favor of the tax, 895 against.
