There are major developments today in a recent arson case. A Columbus Prosecutor says he may drop charges against the man suspected of starting the fire that killed five college students near the Ohio State University campus.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says he's questioning the charges after reviewing the videotaped police interview with 20-year-old Robert Lucky Patterson and after talking to five witnesses. He will be meeting with the victims' families today to discuss the case. O'Brien says he asked for police, fire department and FBI files and evidence to be sent to his office. The decision to dismiss the charges must be made before Mondays' deadline for seeking an indictment, however if the charges are dismissed they can be refiled against Patterson at any time.
