The Newark Fire Department is taking the occasion of the 9-11 anniversary to start building a new fire station. Mayor Frank Stare says the groundbreaking of the new west side fire station symbolizes the importance of our public safety forces. Stare says when voters passed the safety levy a commitment was made to dedicate all levy-generate income tax revenue to the city public safety forces. The ceremony is set for 10 this morning.
