The PAWS group, a local affiliation with the animal shelter, is fundraising for their spay and neuter program again. This time you can get a sweet holiday treat and feel good about helping local dogs and cats.
Bonnie Lavy, co-chair of the event says, “if they can’t find a home for them from the animal shelter then eventually they get destroyed, so if we can spay and neuter as many dogs and cats as we can then there won’t be that over abundance of animals brought in to the animal shelter.”
Cookies were baked and donated by PAWS group members, families as well as local high school students.
Last year the group raised over 3,000 dollars with this event and hope to raise the same if not more this year. The cookies go on sale tomorrow morning from 9am until noon at the Bethesda Campus in meeting rooms 1,2, and 3.
