Several schools across the state are closing as the number of suspected flu cases rises.

Superintendent Paul Johnson of Bucyrus City Schools in North-Central Ohio says Tuesday’s absentee rate hit 35%, which prompted the high school to shut down Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Also in North-Central Ohio, Madison Junior High School in Mansfield is closed Thursday and Friday because so many students were absent. Principal Timothy Rupert says 250 out of the school’s 900 students were out sick Wednesday.
