One local pottery company will keep it's doors open and area residents might have their jobs back after investors purchase it's real estate and business assets.
Virginia based, Clayfish Limited Liability Company and the original Hartstone pottery announced today that they purchased Hartstone pottery in Zanesville, previously run by Carlisle incorporated.
"We saw real opportunity we said well you know what these guys were doing a lot of things wrong, we think we can do them differently we think we can make this a thriving business and that’s what really sort of drove it," says President of the Original Hartstone Pottery, John McMillin.
McMillin says his goal is to bring the quality of the pottery back to the way it once was, a valued treasure.
After approximately forty employees were laid off in the past six months Hartstone currently employs only four workers but hopes to have production up and running by the begin ing of next week.
