The Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark already employs 175 people, but building a 50,000 square foot water resort will add 100 more positions.

“Everything from lifeguard, restaurant management positions, arcade and gift shop,” said Cherry Valley Lodge General Manager Becky Miller.

Job openings aren’t the only positive impact this project will have on the community. They’re hoping once construction is finished, the resort will attract a variety of people, bringing in more revenue and boosting the local economy.

“The water resort is geared towards the family traveler on the weekends and the remainder of the hotel is geared towards business travelers.”

Miller hopes the water resort will open the company’s appeal to locals and vacationers alike.
