A local family is asking for the community’s help after their son was severely injured in a car accident on October 18-th.
Family members say Kyle Johnson was driving back from visiting a friend in Pennsylvania when the accident happened.
According to the family, a trucker spotted Kyle’s car overturned on the side of the road and then found Kyle lying in a ditch.
The 18-year old Army reservist sustained severe head injuries and just recently came part way out of a coma.
“He’s making progress,” Kyle’s aunt Carol Greenlee said. “He can move his fingers and nod his head.”
But Kyle doesn’t have any insurance and the bills for his hospital stay are adding up.
Since he’s not an active duty member of the Army, the government isn’t paying his medical bills either.
Kyle’s aunt has set up a special fun to help the family pay for his medical bills.
Donations can be made at Century National Bank for Private Kyle Johnson.
