Just days after the election a newly elected state official is getting a head start in his position, right here in Zanesville.
Attorney General Elect Marc Dann joined the Buckeye State Sheriffs Association Tuesday night to begin a partnership with members of Ohio’s law enforcement.
Dann said he wants to provide the departments with the resources necessary to keep every Ohio resident safe. That includes working to pass a local enactment of the federal Adam Walsh law.
“That deals with missing children and abused children and databases making sure we can keep track of sexual predators whether they’re from Ohio or from Indiana or from Pennsylvania or from West Virginia. This will update our technology and update our resources in order to do that,” Dann said.
Dann also expressed his opinion of former Republican coin dealer Tom Noe’s recent guilty verdict, saying he has been critical of the administration.
“I think that the Noe case is the end of the beginning. We have many more steps to go in terms of rooting out corruption in the state government.”
Dann said he has made a commitment to integrity and will work to prevent corruption in his office.
