The city of New Lexington is closing a retail store and its 16 jobs. Pamida public relations spokeswoman Kerry Heinrich says its Perry County store is closing.
16 people will be affected. Heinrich says it will take between 14 and 16 weeks for the store to be liquidated and close.
In all, the company says its closing 16 of its stores across the country including three in Ohio. Pamida’s mission is to be the leading retailer in smaller communities.
It sells everything from jeans to prescription drugs.
Heinrich says the stores are being closed because they are unable to make enough sales in their markets.
