This month's child in need of adoption is a shy 16-year-old who hopes to have a career that helps others. WHIZ's Nichole Medaugh introduces us to Steph Ann.

Steph Ann might seem quite, but once she warms up those that know here say you'll find she's a very amazing lady.

"She laughs a lot. She listens to music. She loves her little doggy fudge and she likes any kind of animal," said her social worker Laura Barrington.

"I play softball in the summer. I just started about a year or two ago," explained Steph Ann.

There's more to Steph Ann then just a love of music and pets she's a student in the Health Tech program, which teaches nursing.

"I'm going to be a nurse when i get older, i'm thinking i'm going to an rn. Health tech is going to help me out with that."

"She has a very high IQ. I don't think she realized how smart she was but she's very intelligent.

Steph Ann is also an active member of her church youth group, selling candy bars so that she can raise money to attend youth camp.
And now she's searching for a family.

"Steph Ann would do really well in a two parent family, with or without children. I think she'd enjoy some one on one attention because she's missed out on that," explained Barrington.

And for any perspective parents Steph Ann wants them to know....

"I'm cool."
