Students from the Mid-East Career and Technology Center experienced the deadly affects of drinking and driving this afternoon ahead of the upcoming prom season.
Students Against Destructive Decisions or SADD presented a mock crash to juniors and seniors to make them aware of the consequences of drinking and driving.
"Tomorrow is our prom and we would like for the students to have a wonderful time at the prom but to have a safe prom and everybody arrive home safely, we would like for all of the schools in the districts that we serve, the 14 districts we serve to be able to have an accident free prom and that all the students make it home okay," explained SADD Advisor, Lisa Potts.
Students involved with the group say today's mock crash was a good experience and sent a good message to the other students.
"Today I was the drunk driver and what I wanted my friends to see was that it's really a bad thing to do nobody needs to die just because you had a few drinks," said Maysville High School Student, Austin Maxwell.
The State Highway Patrol, Muskingum County Sheriff's Department, Duncan Falls Fire Department, Community Ambulance, Harrison Township EMS and Med-Flight all took part in today's mock crash.
