It's National E-M-S week and Community Ambulance Service hosted a cook-out for their employees and other emgergency services officials.
EMT's, Paramedics and Firefighters stopped by the offices on Linden Avenue to eat and receive a thank you gift.
Erica Wickham is a Supervisor at Community Ambulance. "We open our doors for a cook-out for everybody. Basically this is to show the appreciation on how much we appreciate our employees" said Wickham.
Wickham went on to say that this is an annual event and that other events took place all week long. "This is something we do annually. We actually provide something everyday through this week, the 18th thru the 24th. And to show our employees exactly how much we feel about them and that they do a great job for us and for the people within our community " said Wickam.
She also said that this week is set aside not only to say thanks to the emergency workers, but also to let the public know how important they are to the emergency services community.
