Basketball and Traffic Delays with Gus Macker
In case you've been living under a rock these past couple weeks, the Y-City's Gus Macker Tournament kicks off Saturday, but starting Friday, several downtown streets will be blocked off.

Main Street between 4th and 5th Streets closes Friday morning at 10:00. After 5:00, 5th Street from Shinnick to South Streets will close, along with Market from 4th to 6th, and Main will close from 4th to 6th Streets. And as always, with any road closures you should expect delays.

"The big delays will be coming off the 5th Street Ramp, once we close because all the sudden you'll have to stop at Shinnick and make a decision are you going to turn left or right," says Dana Matz of the Downtown Association.

Organizers say delays should be minimal with 6th Street open this year. Registration begins Friday afternoon at 2:00. Teams must register before their first game on Saturday.

"Bring the players down if they're under 16 or do not have a driver's license they will need to have a birth certificate for registration," says Matz.

Volunteers will register participants in front of the court house on Main Street. The tournament tips off Saturday and ends Sunday.
