It's time for our monthly feature highlighting a child in need of adoption.

This month we have a promising teen in need of a family to help her reach her dreams.

On this day, Courtney, is busy getting her hair done at the Banyon Spa at Cherry Valley Lodge.

She knows just what she wants, a trim and plenty of curls.

It's just part of Courtney's sense of style.

"I make purses, pants," said Courtney. "I haven't mastered a shirt yet, but I'm getting there."

Courtney has big plans. She spends her free time drawing clothes and other designs and see herself doing many things in the future.

"I would like to be a pastry chef, a fashion designer maybe an art teacher or music teacher."

"She just lights up when she talks about fashion design, making clothes and decorating," explained Social Worker Saundra Panezich. "I mean she has a talented gift for it because she can pull colors and fabrics and talk about anything artsy and craftsy."

Courtney would like to someday attend Kent State to study fashion and she's excited to share her love of playing sports, cooking (she knows some recipes by heart), and language arts with a family.

"I would like a fun family, nobody boring, except for maybe when your sick, I would like to have someone I could have fun with and that's cool like me."
