The Muskingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is proud to announce the winners of the 2008 Hometown Heroes awards.
Mr. Charles Lanning was chosen as this year’s Military Hero and is sponsored by American Legion Post 29.
Mr. Jason Thompson is this year’s Education Hero and is sponsored by Wal-Mart North.
Miss Anna Graham was chosen as this year’s Health Care Hero and is sponsored by Imlay’s Uniforms.
Ms. Polly Lutz is this year’s Muskingum County Hero and is sponsored by Citizens National Bank.
Mr. Billy Hoffer is this year’s Faith in Action Hero and is sponsored by the Times Recorder.
Mr. Lloyd Williams was chosen as this year’s Morgan County Hero and is sponsored by Citizens National Bank.
This year the Perry County Heroes are the lifesavers of Mr. William Hinkle, Butch Wolfe, Greg Williams, Josie Roush, Jacqueline Bolyard, Lisa Baughman, Shawn and Sommer Carr, Josh and Sonja Mumford, and they are sponsored by Wal-Mart South.
Ms. Beulah Hague was chosen as this year’s Hero to Pets and is sponsored by Matesich Distributing.
Mr. Jeff Lloyd is this year’s Public Safety Hero and is sponsored by The Energy Cooperative.
Mr. Taylor Harlan was chosen as this year’s Youth Hero and is sponsored by Guernsey Muskingum Electric.
Ms. Sherri Wade is this year’s Work Place Hero and is sponsored by Sam’s Club.
Ms. Mona Moody was chosen as this year’s Senior Adult Hero and is sponsored by AT&T.
The Hometown Heroes breakfast celebration is Friday, November 14, 2008, at 7:30 am. This year’s event will take place at North Terrace Church of Christ located at 1569 Bowers Lane, Zanesville.
Tickets for the breakfast are $15 per person or a table for eight is $150. Tickets are available at the Muskingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross located at 22 South 7th Street, Zanesville.
This year’s breakfast is sponsored by Zandex Health Care.
The Hometown Heroes breakfast is truly an amazing event. For a heartwarming hour and a half, attendees get to hear how ordinary people made a heroic choice and helped others.
An independent committee selected the 2008 Hometown Heroes. A matrix system was used for fair and unbiased voting. The Muskingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross received many nominations, all of which were read and considered.
