Detectives from the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office are looking for two suspects wanted in connection with an armed home invasion over the weekend.

The incident occurred this past Saturday between the hours of 2 and 3am at a home in Adamsville. Chief Deputy Matt Lutz says the couple inside was woken up and held at gunpoint when the two masked men broke in and ransacked their home. "An older couple that lived on Piper Road reported the incident. There were 2 suspects both were wearing masks and both were armed. Woke them up and entered into their residence and committed a theft. They ended up taking some guns, cash some medications and some other personal valuables."

Lutz says when the couple called 911 they were very upset though an officer was near by to handle the situation quickly. But this latest home invasion was one of the more serious cases they have dealt with in a long time. "This case here, is probably a lot more serious that we expect, its not every time do you get somebody willing to go into a house at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning when the probability is very high that somebody is going to probably be there so for them to go in the residence knowing that somebody is probably there is a lot more serious in our eyes and we are doing everything we can to find out who is responsible for it. "

The Sheriff's Office is currently investigating evidence and other leads from the scene.

If anyone has information about this incident they are being asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 452-3637 Ext. 144
