No child is being left offline in Morgan County after 13 brand new computers were donated to the Kate Love Simpson library branch in McConnelsville.

State and county officials took part in the debut of the $6,500 worth of equipment that will bring opportunities to kids in Morgan County. "These are new computers too with wonderful monitors so this will really help children take advantage of computer services." Says Kate Love Simpson Library Director, Blythe Schubert. "Its often in our library we have 10 computers in this library and often they are all taken and children dont have access to them so by providing more computers for children and teens they'll have more access, especially between 3:00 and 7:00, when our heaviest time is."

Of the 14,000 residents in Morgan County, over 8,000 have a library cards, Schubert is optimistic these new computers will be taken full advantage of. "We do check computers out just like books and so people without a library card because they don't read books perhaps or buy their own books they do have to get a library card. And we are hoping while they are in here, they will take advantage of some of the other resources that we have."

The computer donation ceremony marked Connect Ohio and Ohio Telecom Associations "Digital Day" where 400 computers were donated through out the state of Ohio.
