They offer free concerts on Sunday nights through out the summer, but this year they need some help.

The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band came to the Muskingum County Commissioners today to ask for a little help with funds this year. "We have a lot of expenses and because the concerts are free we really don't have any income other than donations that come from the county commissioners, other local foundations and businesses and individuals who are patrons every year."

Band board member Amy Underwood understands times are hard for people and they appreciate those who can help their cause in bringing free concerts to the community on Sunday afternoons. "We hope that people appreciate that this is a long standing tradition for this county. This band was founded in 1923 so its a historic tradition that we would like to be able to continue, but we do need help to do that."

Underwood also says their next step is going to the Mayor of Zanesville for a little help. The concerts bands first concert is June 7th.
