A Former Perry County Priest is expected to be sentenced for sexually abusing a child in Maryland.

The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that The Reverend Aaron Joseph Cote entered a plea of “not guilty, agreed statement of facts” in Montgomery County Circuit Court.

It means Cote did not admit guilt but does not contest the state’s presentation of facts.

In the late 1980’s Cote was the Priest at the Holy Trinity Church in Somerset.

He is expected to be sentenced to five years of supervise probation and five years of unsupervised probation, according to the Disptach.

Barbara Dorris of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests said we’re grateful of the conviction but upset that Cote won’t be locked up.
