The Zanesville Community Development Committee has been busy working on various grants and hope to stabilize the community.

Stacy Clapper of the committee says the application of a new grant could help in that effort. She says their application for the Clean Ohio Assistance Fund could do just that.

"That is phase two of an environmental assessment for a project on Moxahala that will clean up Brownfield," said Clapper. "We have that application complete and we are holding a public meeting on October 6 in City Hall, welcoming any public input on that application."

Clapper says the biggest concern for community development is stabilizing neighborhoods. She says the department has several grants to work with condemned homes and foreclosed properties.
