A 12-year-old Westerville girl is doing her part to help pay for the medical bills of the Zanesville Police Department K-9 officer shot in the line of duty.

This past Sunday Katie Cavanagh held a bake sale at the Kroger in Westerville and raised $700.00 in two hours for Bosco.

Now Katie has decided to do the same thing at the Kroger in Zanesville.

This Saturday a bake sale will take place from 2:00 until 5:00 and there is talk that Officer Mike Schiele will be there to accept the donation in person as well as the department’s other K-9 officer.

Katie’s mom, Carole, says the response has been overwhelming and now Bakeries in Westerville and Zanesville are stepping forward with donations for Saturday’s event.
