Roush on Home Invasion

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating an early morning home invasion burglary.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. in the 800 block of Orchard Street.

"When the officers arrived there, what they found was that the male and female resident of the apartment were awakened when two males barged in the door of their apartment, " says Detective Sergeant Ric Roush.

Roush says the two men demanded money, and one man was armed with a handgun.

"They did, after robbing the couple, flee on foot. Our officers did apprehend two individuals shortly therafter. Those two individuals are currently in our city jail, " says Roush.

No one was injured in the incident.

Roush says his department plans to meet with the prosecutor to discuss charges. Until charges are filed, the names of the two suspects cannot be released.
