Bond has been set for a Zanesville man accused of robbing two Heath businesses and then leading police on a chase. 53-year old Thomas Walker is being held on a $75,000 bond at the Licking County Justice Center. Walker is suspected of robbing a Dollar Tree store located at 617 Hebron Road and Goumas Candy at 19 Claren Drive. Police received a call around 7:00 Tuesday evening, regarding a robbery at the Dollar Tree. Shortly after police arrived, they received a call regarding a robbery at Goumas Candy. According to a press release, the suspect had a weapon. As an officer was en route to Goumas, he was alerted by Indian Mound Mall Security of a mini-van driving erratically. The officer began to follow the van, which resulted in a chase. The van allegedly led police on a two mile pursuit when it crashed into a fence on Dorsey Mill Road. Authorities say Walker attempted to flee on foot, and that's when police tased and arrested him. Police believe he is responsible for both robberies. Authorities do not know how much money or merchandise was taken.
