Lavy Speaks About Bids

The Muskingum County Commissioners took bids today for the Dunzweiler Drive Sewer Project.

Eight construction companies showed interest in the project, but only two were present to give their bids.

"We had two bids received today, one from Nicolozakes Trucking and Construction from Cambridge for a total bid of $858,935.57 and the second one was from Zemba Brothers from Zanesville for a total bid of $758,616," tells Commissioner Jerry Lavy.

The commissioners also obtained easements from six property owners for the project in order to have access to their property. The county will not have to front all the money for the project.

"Part of this is coming from stimulus money, the rest is low interest loans through USDA, one of the facilities we use, and maybe through some other funding sources we have available," says Lavy.

Both bids will be taken under advisement by the commissioners.
