Bishop Fenwick Fun Run

It was an early and wet morning for many people in the community.

Muskingum County residents of all ages were stretching and getting ready for the Bishop Fenwick Fun Run that kicked off around 8:30 this morning. The fun run hopes to raise around $10,000.

"The money goes toward a scholarship for some kids who can't afford it and it also goes for the 8th grade class trip to Chicago in May," tells Amy Kirkbride a co-chair of the event.

The course started at the Rite Aid off Main Street and wound throughout downtown. State representative Troy Balderson was on hand to start the race.

"There are a lot familes here today, I know it is not sunshine, but it is a nice morning for a run...people are very excited and it all goes back to the community and people feel good when they see each other," says Rep. Balderson.

More than 200 runners particpated. After the runners completed the course, they were welcome to snacks and drinks at St. Nicholas Church.
