The Zanesville Kiwanis Club is gearing up for its largest fundraiser of the year.
Kiwanis President, Dave Desender, says Kiwanians and local high school Key Clubbers will be hitting the streets of Zanesville for the peanut sale this Friday and Saturday.
"We'll be at the Maple and Bell intersection as well as Zane and Underwood. Also, (we'll) be up at Sam's Club," says Desender.
Desender says when people drive by, they can give donations and in return, will get a bag of peanuts.
He says giving out peanuts is a tradition that has been carried throughout the years.
Once collected, the money will be put toward community projects
"A lot of our projects are thinks like we do a Christmas party for disadvantaged children. We also do some wheelchair ramps. Right now, we're working on a ramp here in town for a lady who is disabled-not able to get out of her home. We're helping her build that, " says Desender.
The peanut sales usually produces between 10 and 12 thousand dollars for the Kiwanis Club.
