A Newark company will begin work on the job ready site in the Eastpointe Industrial Park.
At Friday's Muskingum County Port Authority meeting board members award Rayco the $200,000 project to finish grading a 102 acre pad. The Port's executive director says that will use most of the funds left to develop the area.
"It's basically completing the site grading," explained Jerry Nolder. "It's moving dirt, filling in wet land area and we do have our EPA permits and finishing the grating plan out there on the pad."
While the grading project will be complete by the end of the year, the project won't finish until a rail line is built through the Eastpointe Park.
"We are working with one of the gas companies," said Nolder. "There is an oil and gas well on the property and we're coming to completion on that as well."
The Port continues to search for companies to occupy the job ready site. Next Thursday over 60 of the major developers in the MidWest will be at Eastpointe to learn about the site.
