One Zane State club is walking to spread awareness about suicide prevention.

The Human Services Tech Club is holding its first "Walk of Hope," which Club Secretary, Brooke Papageorge says took about three months to put together.

"It's something we put together to help people walk out of darkness for hope and for light, to just take one day at a time and to realize that people do need somebody to talk to. You know, depression really hurts, " says Papageorge.

The rain forced the festivities inside.

Papageorge says she expects about 200 people to participate and walk the darkened halls of Zane State, which will be lit by candles, into one fully-lit hallway.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Muskingum County Suicide Prevention Coalition.
