Tri-Valley Band Classic

High school students from across the state shine up their instruments and braving the cold weather this afternoon for the Tri-Valley Band Classic.

"We have 16 bands including the Tri-Valley marching Scotties here this evening to compete in the OMEA band competition," says Mark Bishop a Tri-Valley Band parent.

This competition is a qualifier for the state competition and is raising money for Tri-Valley's new band uniforms. Katie King is one of many students competing. This junior at Tri-Valley and loves being in the band.

"I have a ton of friends and there is other people I have met throughout the high school. When I was a freshman I was really afraid of the high school, but my band friends were always there to help me with everything," says King.

This is the 22nd year Tri-Valley has held the competition. The 1st place team will win a trophy and, of course, bragging rights until next year.
