The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is continuing an investigation surrounding a bomb threat at the Community Bank.

It's located off the Maysville Pike in South Zanesville.

Detective Mike Lecocq says the call came in just before 1 p.m.

"The Community Bank did receive a call from a male. The call contained a threat to the bank, " says Lecocq.

The Community Bank enacted its safety procedures and everyone was evacuated from the building.

The Sheriff's Office, the South Zanesville Fire Department, and the Newton Township Fire Department responded. Lecocq says an explosive K9 was brought in to do an interior and exterior sweep of the building but didn't find anything.

"We have to research call records, video tapes of people that were in and around the bank today. Just start from square one, " says Lecocq.

The Community Bank was closed for about an hour this afternoon and a portion of the Big K-mart parking lot was blocked off.

We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
