The last First Friday Artwalk of 2009 will be this week.
And the ZAAP Gallery is featuring another artist from the Zanesville area.
Kay Isreal says she realized as a child she wanted to make art.
"I used to sit as a child on the side of the road," said Israel. "I would make designs out of sparkly stones and clovers and wildflowers. I got such joy out of that. I think that was the beginning."
Israel says her work is a compilation of two to three years of new and re-worked art.
"A lot of these pieces are acrylic works, most of the painted works are," she said. "I have some with sticks and wire and sticks and paper and one piece that is slate."
Israel's work will be on display at the ZAAP Gallery Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Other galleries around downtown will be open featuring other local artists as well.
