President Barack Obama says that 30 thousand additional troops will be deployed to Afghanistan.
He made the announcement last night from West Point, New York, and some local Zanesville residents are shaking their heads, saying they don't agree with his decision.
"Frankly, I think they've been over there for too long, and I think the family wouldn't mind seeing them come home, " says Zanesville resident James Morrison.
Zanesville resident Linda Zemba has a grandaughter who is currently in the army and waiting to go overseas.
"I think we should mind our own business and let them along over there. I just don't think we should go over and fight someone else's problems. We've got enough problems here, " says Zemba.
Obama referenced that this deployment will not be another "Vietnam War" situation and he plans on pulling troops out of Afghanistan by the summer of 2011.
