Sheriff Lutz speaks about Harris

A man wanted for attempted murder is now in custody.

James Scott Harris, 40, is wanted in connection with the shooting of Trevor Carson, 36. Carson was shot several times in the back on Friday, November 27th. Harris was this week's Muskingum County's Most Wanted Suspect and was taken into custody at 2:15 pm Thursday in Nelsonville, Ohio.

"We have been looking at information and tracking down some different places he had been and today we got a little lucky and hard work paid off and we were able to find him down there and took him into custody with no incident," says Sheriff Matt Lutz.

Sheriff Lutz says his detectives were assisted by the Athen's County Sheriff's Office and Nelsonville Police. Harris was arrested inside a private residence, but no information is being released about the people he was staying with. Now Harris will spend the night in jail before coming back to Muskingum County.

"He will be down at the Athen's County Jail until we can make arrangements to get him back here to Muskingum County," says Sheriff Lutz.

Sheriff Lutz says he believes Trevor Carson was an acquaintance of Harris and is still being treated in the hospital.
