A local organization is making sure everyone in the community has a warm meal for Christmas.
Christ's Table volunteers served around 250 Christmas meals this morning for anyone who walked through their door. They also served 135 meals to people who were home bound. The turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes, salad and dessert were all donated by people in the community. Assistant to the kitchen coordinator, Betty Madinger, says Christmas is a time of giving and many who eat Christmas dinner at Christ's Table are very thankful.
"A lot of them are really happy, I can see the smile on their faces and a lot of them say thank you and they are glad we are here for them," says Madinger.
She says it is important everyone have a warm meal on Christmas. Michael Trott, a former volunteer with Christ's Table, says the meal is fantastic and Christ's Table is a major asset to Zanesville.
"People would starve to death if it wasn't for Christ's Table, you know, if I ever won a couple million in the lottery, half of it would go here," says Trott.
Christ's Table has served Christmas dinner for 20 years.
