Have you always wanted to do something or have a great idea for a business but just don't know where to start?
There is a new program that might help. It's called the Micro-Enterprise Business Development Program that helps small business and people with ideas for a business for free.
"We're kinda of in a place where the businesses need the support and the support and the services are available. A lot of what we offer to small businesses is for free and you know this is something that will as a whole will make a big difference especially in Zanesville," Regional Coordinator Jessica Sherman said.
The new program is a Micro Loan Program and will provide funds to small businesses. To be able to qualify your business has to be within the Zanesville city limits and have five employees or less.
"Each person or each business that is actually eligible for the program will become an affiliate client of the Muskingum County Business Incubator. What we'll do then is help the business develop a business plan and they'll be assigned to an MCBI counselor. So this business is growing throughout this year to make sure that they have a good idea and are building a foundation to be successful beyond the funds that we can provide them," Sherman said.
You can pick up an application at the MCBI office on North 5th Street or at the Zanesville city offices or online at www.MCBI.info. The Micro-Enterprise Business Development Program has a meeting at the MCBI offices January 21st from 5:30 to 8 to explain the program further.
