Some Zanesville residents might need to take a different route when driving through the city for the next several months.
Zanesville city crews started work today on a project on portions of Wayne Avenue from the city limits to Marietta Street.
"It's a new waterline," said Public Service Director Mike Sims. "It was one of our stimulus projects. It was 50 percent grant money, 50 percent zero-interest loan. We were fortunate to get that."
Motorists are encouraged to use Moxhala Avenue or Putnam Avenue as an alternate route during the construction of the project.
The project is expected to run through the spring.
