Robinson speaks about scholarship

A Zane State student is ahead of the game.

Zachary Robinson,17, is graduating with an Associates Degree in Technical Studies and his high school diploma from Zane State College. He is one of 30 students being honored and receiving a $500 scholarship at the Martin Luther King Junior Scholarship Prayer Breakfast.

"It will mean a lot because it will actually help me out with my books which is a big relief because it helps me out with my money so I don't have to worry about as much money anymore," says Zachary Robinson.

Robinson says he wants to attend the University of Cincinnati or Ohio University and study engineering. Since the scholarship money comes from community donations, Robinson says it means a lot to know the community is behind him.

"It makes me feel great because then it feels like a lot of people are helping you, the support is nice that a way it is a lot to fall back on, need a lot of help to support us," says Robinson.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is in need of donations for the thirty students receiving scholarships. Donations can be sent to the address below:

Muskingum County Community Foundation

Zanesville, OH 43701

Tickets to the Martin Luther King Junior Scholarship Prayer Breakfast can be purchased for $10 at the Muskingum County-Zanesville Welcome Center.
