A family is still searching for answers in the murder of Priscilla Dawn Hickman.
Hickman was found strangled to death in her heath home January 18, 2009. Her case remains unsolved and now Hickman's two sisters, Michelle Laverty and Rosanna Root, are raising awareness about her murder.
"I think a lot of times people, if they don't hear about it in the news they assume it is solved, they assume something must have happened and that is certainly not the case here," tells Laverty.
Laverty says authorities don't have a suspect or any motive for her sister's murder. While hanging flyers about her sister, Manor House Bar and Grill owner, Tim Haas, was moved by the Hickman's tragic story and offered to help.
"The ladies came to me and asked me if they could hang posters to try and draw an awareness to it and I said, let's do a benefit," says Haas.
Laverty says it is her hope that the benefit will cause people to begin talking about the crime again and come forward with new leads.
"I hope there is someone out there that has some information, even if they don't think it is critical to the investigation, I am not implying people know who did it, they just might know someone they saw her with recently, before her death, or they might know they saw her in a car she wasn't normally in or just any kind of situation like that," explains Laverty.
All the money raised will go toward the reward for information in Priscilla Dawn Hickman's death. If you have any information on Hickman's murder call the Licking County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-488-9058.
