Two people were taken to the hospital after a police chase in Hebron Monday evening.
According to Hebron Police Chief James Dean, around 6 p.m. a Hebron police officer attempted to stop a pick-up truck for driving without taillights.
The driver pulled to the side and stopped. The driver and a couple passengers exited the truck. At that time it became an officer safety issue, and the Chief said they believe the passengers were trying to distract the officer.
The driver of the pick-up truck then got back in the truck and took off at a high-rate of speed leaving the passengers. A short distance down the road the pick-up ran a red-light and collided with a car at the intersection of State Route 79 and Enterprise Drive.
Chief Dean says both drivers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Life Flight was called, but couldn't come to the scene due to weather.
The investigation is continuing and names of those involved will be released at a later time.
