About 20 Muskingum County students showed the community spelling is as easy as ABC.

Students from McIntire-Munson, Westview, National Road, Wilson, Grover Cleveland, Roosevelt and Bishop Fenwick schools competed Tuesday night at National Road Elementary for the title of district champ.

The winner was Frasier Baker of Bishop Fenwick. Second place went to Mac Masterson of Roosevelt and in third place was Katarina Hanifan of Bishop Fenwick.

The winner will go on to the regional bee held in Columbus at the end of February or beginning of March. From then on they could go to the state and even national competitions.
