A Mount Perry woman is arrested after an afternoon shooting.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. at 5888 Cinmarron Road.

Sergeant John Russell says an altercation occurred between Bill Wilson and the woman over money. Russell says the woman then presented a gun and shot Wilson in the right shoulder outside the home. Russell says there was a juvenile inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

Wilson was taken to Genesis Bethesda Hospital for treatment and later transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Wilson has since been released.

Russell says he will meet with the Perry County Prosecutor to file formal charges. He says the woman could face felonious assault or attempted murder charges.

She is currently being held at the Perry County Sheriff's Office and is awaiting transportation to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail later tonight.

We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
