The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving one of its troopers.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Morse Road and Alward Road in Pataskala.

A press release indicates two Energy Cooperative STS meter readers passed the accident and stopped to help.

It says Justin Hart and Tony Cannizzaro helped a trooper, who appeared to have a broken leg, from his burning vehicle. It also says they helped the UPS driver, who was initially unconscious at the scene.

Dispatchers say a Granville Trooper was on his way to work when the accident occurred. He was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.

The driver in the UPS car was taken to Grant Medical Center.

We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
