Some federal funds are heading to the South Zanesville Fire Department. Congressman Zack Space says a grant of just over 30-thousand dollars is earmarked for the volunteer first responders. The funds will be used to purchase personal protective equipment, a state of the art thermal imagery camera and additional training. The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the money through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program which is designed to meet the needs of fire departments across the country.
