There is something lucrative happening in the village of Dresden.
Today was the annual Basket Happening at Tri-Valley High School. For Longaberger basket fans, they may have though they died and went to heaven.
"We want to give people an opportunity to get a jump start on their shopping season so they can come out here and enjoy the possibility of getting one of those Longaberger baskets they have been wanting to have," says Bill Embree with the Dresden Village Association.
The proceeds will go toward the Dresden Village Association. The Tri-Valley Archery Club, local Girl Scouts and Nashport 4-H Club were also in attendance to try to raise money for their programs. Embree says he expects around 600 people to browse and buy the famous Longaberger baskets.
"It is something that you can pass on. It is a well built product, it is built in the USA and it can be passed on from generation to generation and we see an awful lot of that," tells Embree.
Embree says vendors came in from all over the state and attendees got their baskets at a great price.
