Five Arrested in Two New Lexington Drug Busts

An investigation leads to the arrest of five Perry County residents.

Perry County Sheriff's Sergeant Kevin Starrett says Friday morning just minutes after 3 the Perry County Sheriff's Office along with the New Lexington and Crooksville Police Departments served two search warrants in New Lexington, one at 320 East Water Street the other 647 Center Street.

The warrants were a result of a three month investigation into the trafficking of heroin in the presence of juveniles. Heroin, an unknown amount of money and drug paraphernalia were found during the searches.

Placed under arrest were, 29-year-old Jason Ratliff, 27-year-old Sheila Gordon, 56-year-old Joseph Westwood, 48-year-old Vickie Westwood and 26-year-old Samantha Bradley.

Ratliff, Gordon and Joseph Westwood are being held at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail on felony drug charges and will appear in court Tuesday. Vickie Westwood and Samantha Bradley were booked and released from jail and will be arraigned at a later date.

Perry County Children Services was also called in to assist because of minor children at the houses ranging in age from four to eleven.
