The numbers are in and it looks good for the United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties.
At the annual Live United Annual Celebration held tonight, the numbers were released for the United Way's campaign and they fell just slightly sort of their $950,000 goal.
"It has been a challenging environment, so we're even more thrilled to announce that this year we raised $925,471," said United Way Executive Director Meg Deedrick. "That's $471 higher than last year."
Deedrick said it would be impossible to have raised as much money without the help of their dedicated volunteers.
"We could not do it of course, this is a volunteer effort, and it's unique in that it's the largest fundraiser that is volunteer-driven," she said. "Very few organizations follow that kind of structure and achieve these types of results year after year after year."
Deedrick said many people throughout the three counties donated money or their time to help support education and access to healthcare throughout the tri-county area.
